We have just begun a new series in the book of Galatians in our 10:30 morning worship hour. This book was written by the Apostle Paul as a defense of Justification by faith alone and is a declaration that one’s acceptance with God is a gift of grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Just as individuals were set free from the bondage of sin in the days of the Apostles, so today, the truth of the glorious Gospel proclaimed in Galatians is still being used to liberate and transform sinners. The truth found in this epistle was the rallying cry of the Reformation: the freedom from the burden of fruitless efforts to earn one’s way to God to the freedom found in the Gospel of grace by faith alone.
In this day there are many false Gospels being proclaimed and the truths of Galatians have never been as crucial and relevant.
